Time to Travel Thursdays – April 2025
Welcome to our April 2025 edition of Time to Travel Thursdays! I’m excited to share some of the latest travel trends and insights I’ve discovered this month. With summer approaching, it’s the perfect time to start planning your next getaway, whether you’re looking for a relaxing beach vacation, an adventure-filled exploration, or a cultural immersion experience.
I originally had wanted this feature to be a weekly one, but it was too hard to keep up with. So Time To Travel Thursdays is a month-long blog link up, so it gives people more time to join in the party!

I am super excited that I am finally traveling this month! We are headed to Chicago this month to see the Phillies play the Cubs. Our first time at Wrigley Field, and we can’t wait. If you have been there, I would love to hear your best tips! And next month, we are headed to Sandals Grenada, so get ready for some new content!
What’s Trending in Travel for 2025
Even though I mainly deal with clients looking to book Sandals and Beaches Resorts, I still like to share other tidbits that pertain to travel. There are some days where I am researching things for content, and I end up going down the rabbit hole and find new things. Check some of them out!!
The travel landscape continues to evolve in exciting ways this year. One of the biggest trends we’re seeing is the rise of “destination dupes” – less crowded alternatives to popular hotspots that offer similar experiences without the overwhelming crowds. For example, choosing Girona instead of Barcelona or Brescia instead of Milan gives travelers authentic experiences with fewer tourists.
Another trend gaining momentum is what’s being called “JOMO travel” (the Joy of Missing Out) – where travelers purposely seek out destinations that allow them to disconnect, relax, and enjoy a more mindful travel experience away from the digital world. Think secluded beach houses, countryside farmhouses, or lakeside lodges that provide a true escape from daily life.
Travel Planning Tips for 2025
If you’re planning travel this year, here are a few helpful tips based on current trends:
- Book further in advance: More travelers are booking their trips 8-10 months ahead, especially for popular destinations during peak seasons.
- Consider shoulder season travel: With changing climate patterns and over tourism concerns, many travelers are opting for “season-stretching” – visiting destinations just before or after the traditional high season.
- Look into travel insurance: With continued global uncertainties, protecting your travel investment is more important than ever.
- Embrace local experiences: Travelers increasingly want authentic connections with destinations, whether through food tours, community-based tourism, or staying in locally-owned accommodations.
- Stay flexible: Transportation disruptions, weather events, and other unexpected changes are part of travel in 2025. Build some flexibility into your itinerary.

Let’s talk about some of the good posts I found during my time on the web this week.

We always travel during the off season: before Memorial Day and after Labour Day, and it’s still too crowded IMO. Ha ha.
We travel in May because that’s our anniversary, and definitely in September because it breaks up the stretch until we travel in May! Thanks so much for stopping in!
