Unleash your inner explorer at the T-Rex Cafe in Disney Springs! Discover a Jurassic dining experience like no other, with tasty dishes and dino-themed fun.
There are so many people out there that are HUGE fans of Disney World. I have been there 3 times before, once when I was really young, once when I was there for a high school band trip, and once with my husband and family when we started dating.

In 2016, we finally took a trip Disney World as a family, and it was so much fun. One of my bucket list stops was the T-Rex Cafe in Disney Springs. As a huge fan of dinosaurs, it was the perfect place for me.
We were on a road trip from our home because of our oldest son looking for college. After 3 days and 3 colleges, we finally made it to Florida. We checked into our hotel at Universal Studios, then headed out to Disney Springs for our dinner.

One of the things I liked about Disney Springs is the ease of navigating the parking garages. One of the things that I found overwhelming at first when planning our trip was how big Disney Springs seemed on the map.
When we found out that the parking garages were clearly marked with different fruit names, it became less overwhelming. After finding a spot, we went on a stroll to the T-Rex Cafe in Disney Springs.

An In-Depth Look About Our Experience At T-Rex Cafe In Disney Springs
I also have a second warning regarding heading to the restaurant: look forward only, do not let the shops on the way distract you from your destination. We were almost late to our check-in because there was so much to see.

Yeah, very distracting, as is the really awesome dinosaurs. I look back now and can’t believe my husband managed to get me out of there without buying anything!

We were lucky because after a relatively short wait, we were taken to our table. I loved how different the seating areas were, and how each area had SO much to look at. I think I made the hostess nervous because I was so busy looking at things, she was probably afraid I was going to walk into something.

I enjoyed my adult beverage with its souvenir cup. Yes, my name is Jennifer, and I am a souvenir junkie!

After much deliberation, I decided to order the pulled pork sandwich. I would love to share a picture with you, but I ate it before I could take a picture. Trust me when I say it was DELICIOUS! And my youngest, who was always a fussy eater, enjoyed his meal as well.

A Word Of Caution: If you have any kind of sensory issues, then the T-Rex Cafe in Disney Springs may not be for you. Between the lights and sounds, it can be quite overwhelming. Young kids may become frightened, so make sure you know how your child will react first.
While we were waiting for our meal, we got to witness the “meteor shower”. It was loud, and noisy, and a lot of fun! Lights flickering, dinosaur roars, and a cool mist. Here is a picture from the cave next to where we were sitting.

If your child has sensory issues, it may make this experience less than ideal for you. If your child is afraid of loud noises, you may want to reconsider eating here. Here are some items that may make it easier for your child to have this wonderful experience.
Sensory Tools To make experiencing the T-rex Cafe more enjoyable:
- Kids Ear Protection Earmuffs for Autism, Toddler, Children, Noise Cancelling Sound
- Nickelodeon Paw Patrol Chase, Skye, Marshall, and More!
- Active Noise Cancelling Headphones for Kids, 60H Playtime, Wireless Bluetooth Over-Ear Headset Built-in Microphone for Home
When you arrive at the restaurant, ask the hostess what the schedule is for the meteor shower so you could take your child outside while it is happening. Or take some time before your trip and watch some YouTube videos with your child so they know what to expect.
Also consider having some new-to-your-kid activities that you save specifically for this restaurant. Service, depending on the time of the year, can be slower, so having plenty of activities available may help keep your child occupied and they may not even notice the meteor shower. Here are a few of my favorites, of course they are all dinosaur themed!
Dynamic dinosaur activities to keep your child busy at the t-rex cafe

- National Geographic Kids Dinos Sticker Activity Book
After we were done eating and were digesting a bit, I walked around and took a few more pictures.

There really is so much to look at, sometimes you don’t know where to start. And, of course, I had to run outside and take a picture of this guy.

We ate there once with our boys and we all enjoyed it (well, actually my youngest slept through just about everything; only waking in time for the t-rex right above our table to roar!). They all loved playing in the mini boneyard outside afterwards and we had to practically drag them away.
My family had to drag me away!
