Seaside Haven With Shoreline Journeys: Mother’s Day 2026 Edition
Happy Mother’s Day to all my readers from Shoreline Journeys Travel. I kind of find it hard to believe that it is already the second Sunday in May. Time is really starting to fly, and I am actually excited about it. Probably because we are heading to Sandals Halcyon this week to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary, and I can’t wait!
I am not sure how today will be for you, but please know that I am grateful for each and every one of you. If you are celebrating with your Mom, I celebrate with you. If you are grieving for your Mom, I pray that you find comfort in treasured memories. Whatever today holds, I wish you nothing but the best!

My day started off very low key. My youngest son is flying out to Wisconsin for some training for his job. I am so proud of what he is doing and it warms my heart that he is doing what he loves to do. My oldest is with his fiancée but we will see them later today. He recently graduated from his teaching certification and will be attaining his Master’s after 1 final course. I am blessed to have 2 amazing sons.
I admit that it’s a little bit weird for me right now. The dynamics in the house have changed subtly. My husband and I are in partial empty nester mode. I know that it all a natural part of growing up and growing older, but it is still hard to grasp sometime. I know that I will adjust, and be able to focus even more on my travel business.
A Quick Disney Update
I haven’t had a chance to start writing about our Disney World adventure last month. It was a whirlwind of fun and adventure, and absolutely exhausting. My feet and knees have finally recovered from all the walking we did in such a short amount of time. I just wanted to share a few highlights:
We absolutely loved our resort! We stayed on-site for the first time ever at the Caribbean Beach Resort. Spoiler: I would 10000% stay at this resort again in a heartbeat!
The Skyliner access to Epcot & Hollywood Studios is an absolute game changer! We had a room in the Jamaica village and our location was absolutely ideal. It was a quick walk across the parking lot to the main hub of the Skyliner, which made rope dropping Hollywood Studios an absolute breeze!
My husband absolutely loved coming with me so he could experience the Star Wars world at Hollywood Studios. I enjoyed it just as much, especially when I got to meet one of my favorite characters. This is the way!
We enjoyed exploring Epcot and going on some amazing rides. And dinner in Italy was our absolute favorite! I am glad I invested in the Photopass because I got lots of great pictures with my husband.
I also have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed doing Disney as adults without the kids. It was nice to set our own pace, decide what we wanted to do, and spend some much needed “us’ time. We have been working pretty hard over the past few months, so it was a great way to slow down and reconnect. Well, at least in between walking over 25,000 steps per day. But that is something I will cover once I start posting my Disney content!
Finally Time To Head To Sandals Resorts!
I can’t even tell you how absolutely thrilled I am to say that we are heading to Sandals Halcyon THIS WEEK! Our long awaited trip is finally almost here, and I can’t wait! Not just because it’s Sandals Resorts, but also because it’s our 29th wedding anniversary next Sunday!
I can’t believe how lucky I am to be married to this man. He is truly my best friend, and I can’t thank him enough for supporting me in my new career. He makes me laugh, he indulges my Sandals Resorts obsession, he works so hard for his family. I feel so blessed and happy to call him mine.

This trip to Sandals Halcyon is special in so many ways. For this trip, we are in a beachfront butler room. And it is our free week, too. Yep, you read that right, our free week. Did you know? If you have 70 paid nights at Sandals (or Beaches) Resorts, you earn a free week. I remember being at Sandals Royal Caribbean in 2017 for our 20th wedding anniversary, and hearing people get their free week and thinking: man, that will never happen for us. And yet, hear we are.
St. Lucia is such a beautiful island, and we can’t wait to be back. I met some of my favorite people at Sandals Grande St. Lucia in 2021, and now we regularly travel with them. I feel so lucky to have made lifelong friends who love traveling to Sandals Resorts, and feel even more blessed to be handling all their travel needs.
