Seaside Haven With Shoreline Journeys: It’s My Birthday Today!
Happy Sunday to all my wonderful readers! It’s a special day for me today, as it is my birthday! Another year older, another year wiser, and another year as a Sandals & Beaches travel agent! I feel truly blessed and grateful to be where I am right now.
I always thought I was “too old” to start over in a new career and that I planned to remain a bookseller until I retired. But thanks to the support of some amazing people and the MAJOR encouragement and love from my own family, here I am. I am finally feeling happy in my life, and feel that I found my place in life.

Normally my birthday really bothers me, and my family understands that. I guess I am glad I am a bit distracted this year by how we are celebrating. Of course, I do wish I was on a Sandals Resorts but I think the way we are celebrating is just as good. I will talk about what we are doing later in the post.
Now that I shared a little bit about the general stuff, let’s get into some specifics as to what is going on with Shoreline Journeys this week.
A Banner Step In My Business
October has brought a very exciting step in my business. My local credit union where I have my business accounts set up, is featuring my travel agency for the month. I was able to go set up a table with some of the promotional materials I have. I am hoping it will help increase leads and that people will want to support a small business.
If someone told me in June 2024 that I would be at this point, I would have said they were crazy. I am so grateful to 58 Stars Travel & Honeymoon Always for seeing my potential and giving me the chance! I wouldn’t be where I am without them!

Where My Clients Are Heading In October
I am so excited for all my clients that are traveling at the end of this month. The last week of October, I have someone traveling almost every day of the week! I am so excited for them, and I will admit, I am a bit jealous that some of them are heading to my favorite Jamaica resort. So where are they headed?
- My next couple traveling is heading to St. Lucia for their honeymoon. So excited to hear what they think.
- I have a couple celebrating an anniversary at Sandals Royal Curaçao. This couple found me through Travel Leaders website, and it turns out they live 20 minutes from me. Small world!
- I have one couple that is celebrating their anniversary at Sandals Dunn’s River in a rondoval!
- I have a couple that is celebrating their honeymoon at Sandals South Coast.
- And lastly, I have couple heading to Sandals La Toc to celebrate their honeymoon!
Whew! So much to look forward to and I love enjoying my client’s travels. I make sure I have them as ready to go as possible with email sequences so that they don’t feel so overwhelmed. It really does help and many have said it made their trip that much better.

What’s Coming Up For Me In Travel
Sad to say, I have absolutely nothing on my travel itinerary at the moment. I do have one possibility that may be in the works, but have no firm details at the time. I am excited because it is a great opportunity if it pans out. I will hopefully find out more in the coming week, and have some exciting news to share.
It has been so fun working on posts and going through pictures from our trips. I really do miss our resort visits and the time we get to spend with each other. We are both busy with work and don’t have as much time to devote to one another, so finding opportunities to get to resort really does mean a lot.
The most important part of being on resort for me is finding out what is new, so I can better help clients match to the right resort. Having the most up-to-date information is what helps me give my clients the best trip for them.
New On The Blog This Week
I definitely had a great writing week again, although I didn’t get them pre-published like I was used to doing. It kind of threw off my days, and I was getting a bit frustrated with myself. My week is probably going to be similar with that pattern, but hopefully I can get ahead.

I think my favorite post was definitely the copycat spaghetti carbonara recipe, although now I wish I was on resort so I could have some right now. The Italian restaurants on the resorts are some of my favorite.
How I Am Celebrating My Birthday
In case you are wondering what I am doing to celebrate my birthday, I will let you know that I am currently enjoying a birthday tailgate at Lincoln Financial Field! Yep, you guessed it, my Philadelphia Eagles are playing at home today and my wonderful family got us tickets to the game to celebrate!
Long before this post went live, we were on our way to the game. Now we are baby tailgaters, and we only have some hoagies and snacks and some drinks for ours. I love seeing what all the hardcore tailgaters do when they are there. I have to tell you, the energy at an Eagles home game is like no other. From hearing “Go Birds” to singing the fight song 3,726 times before the game even starts, it is so much fun!
I feel so grateful that we are here and it is an amazing way to celebrate being another year older! This time last year, I was really trying to feel my way as a new travel advisor, and only had a handful of bookings. But here I am one year later, a Sandals Silver Elite advisor and have progressed to having repeat clients and plenty of future bookings. I feel so blessed and am so grateful to everyone that has supported me on this journey.
Heading off to enjoy this absolutely gorgeous day! If you are watching the game, I am in the nosebleed section but it doesn’t matter because I am just so happy to be there.
