Seaside Haven With Shoreline Journeys: Wildwood NJ Family Vacation Edition
Happy Sunday everyone! It’s great to be back for this fun part of my website, sharing the real side of life and travel. I am back from my Vegas trip, and I had a really great time. I will definitely have a post dedicated to that coming up later in the month.
Today I am excited because we are headed to our absolute favorite vacation spot as an extended family. I can’t wait to share more, so keep reading!

If you live on the East Coast, and enjoy quaint beach towns, Wildwood is a great spot to visit because there is so much to do! From families with littles to multigenerational vacations, you won’t regret coming to this fun Jersey beach town.
The Wildwood Tradition Continues
In case this is your first time to my website, my family and I have been traveling to Wildwood NJ since 1999, when my oldest was merely 6 months old. We turned into a multi-generational family with my husband’s parents and sister, and it is a most treasured vacation of ours.
Many people think that Wildwood is a less-than-desirable beach town, but we know it differently. From our favorite beach motel to delicious restaurants to fun things to do, it fits our family very well. There is nothing like the sights and sounds of the Wildwood Boardwalk, and the family traditions we have created over the years.

This year we are expanding our circle, and I couldn’t be more excited for it. But more about that another time. Let’s talk a little bit more about what our typical week looks like!
My Favorite Wildwood Essentials
- Standing Extra Large Utility Tote Bag
- Divided Snack Trays For Travel
- Oversized Quick Dry Beach Towels
- RollX Beach Cart with Big Balloon Wheels for Sand
What Does The Week Look Like?
We have our favorite spots we always hit when we are in Wildwood. We talk about them all Winter long because we really look forward to them each year. Wildwood is our vacation escape from the crazy realities of everyday life and we treasure our time there.
For me, it was always about recovering from the crazy life I led as a bookseller. From the physical demanding work, from always being “on”, and even just the mental strain of doing all the things and being all the things. This year is different because there have been big changes in my life. In February 2025, I made the decision to leave the bookstore and pursue travel full-time.

Since I have been working from home, I am finding a better balance. Yes, there are still evenings where I am working later and communicating with my clients, but at least I am at home and my family is here as well. It has changed my outlook and I am in a better place mentally, which is a big deal.
This week I will check in with my clients when needed, but I am planning on having periods of guilt-free reading and time by the pool. And I don’t have the “it’s time to go home dread” anymore because I am working for myself. It’s quite refreshing.
The rest of the week is basically just the fun of visiting our favorite vacation spots and places to eat. Some of those include:
- Things To Do Wildwood NJ: Family-Friendly Fun Beyond the Beach
- Celebrating 50 Sweet Years at Duffer’s Restaurant Wildwood NJ
- Sip and Savor the Best of MudHen Brewing Company Wildwood NJ
- The Boathouse Restaurant Wildwood NJ: Fine Dining With A View
- Gateway 26 in Wildwood NJ: Your Go-To Spot for Boardwalk Fun
What Is Next On The Travel Horizon?
Once we are back from Wildwood, hubs and I have a short break until our next adventure in July. We are headed back to the Bahamas to experience Sandals Royal Bahamian for the first time. We are looking forward to it, because it will be a new-to-us location.

Back in 2019, we visited Sandals Emerald Bay in Exuma, and absolutely loved our time there. I am so glad we experienced before Covid hit, and now they are currently renovating the resort to make it Beaches Exuma. I can’t begin to describe the water at that resort. Pictures definitely never did it justice, and we loved our time there!

I love that Sandals Royal Bahamian is a direct flight from the Philly airport. We are heading down to our favorite pre-travel hotel again. With included parking and a free airport shuttle, it makes travel days much easier to handle. We have a mid-morning flight so we don’t have to be up at 3am, which makes travel day more relaxing. There is so many things to do for that trip because I am traveling on travel agent points, I need to start making my lists!
With how busy I have been, I still have been keeping up with adding new content, so let’s talk about that now.
What’s New On The Blog
Even with my time at the EDGE conference (I absolutely loved my time there and will be sharing a recap in the coming weeks), I did manage to find some time to do some writing on the website. Here is what I shared since my last Seaside Haven.
- Where to Eat Breakfast and Lunch in Wildwood, NJ: Why Key West Cafe is a Local Favorite
- Spacious, Budget-Friendly, and Steps from the Boardwalk: A Complete Review of the Efficiency Unit at Le Voyageur Motel in Wildwood, NJ
- Morey’s Piers In Wildwood NJ: A Classic Family Vacation Destination
- Why Seashell Ice Cream Parlor Is A Must Visit In Wildwood NJ
I figured since we were heading to Wildwood, I might as well share some of our favorite places that we visit. I can’t believe in all the time I have been posting on my website, I haven’t shared more of our favorite spots. I made it a priority this Summer to expand on my resources for our favorite local vacation spot.

Well there you have this week’s edition of Seaside Haven at Shoreline Journeys. We are well on our way to Wildwood when this post went live, so make sure you check out my Facebook or IG pages to follow along on our trip. See you in a few days!
