Seaside Haven At Shoreline Journeys: Reflecting On Our Summer Travels

I promise I haven’t disappeared off the face of the Earth and I haven’t been kidnapped by pirates. This travel season was just busier than I anticipated and I didn’t have much time to dedicate to writing on the website. I sincerely regret that because I have so much to share.

I have also been busy with helping clients with their travels, and taking in new clients, along with helping previous ones. It’s hard to believe that all the trips I have been looking forward to are already over. Sifting through photos brings back such wonderful memories, and I look forward to sharing a few highlights with you.

I know that I touched briefly on the fact that we were heading to Sandals Halcyon in my previous entry of Seaside Haven, so I thought I would start there. Here’s a few highlights about that trip. It was a fantastic way to start off our 2026 travels.

Discovering Sandals Halcyon Beach For The First Time

My first visit to Sandals Halcyon Beach in St. Lucia showed me just how much a smaller, more intimate resort can bring to a vacation. The atmosphere was quiet without ever feeling boring, and there was still plenty of fun when we wanted it. The staff were genuinely nice and helpful throughout our stay, and we really enjoyed the smaller atmosphere of the resort. It was easy to settle in, slow down, and simply enjoy being there without feeling like we needed to be doing something every minute. Our butlers also made the trip incredibly easy, taking care of the little details so we could focus on spending time together.

For an anniversary trip where our biggest plan was really to have no plans at all, Sandals Halcyon Beach was exactly what we needed. We spent our days relaxing together and enjoying the resort at our own pace. One of the biggest surprises for us was the beach. We aren’t typically beach people and rarely spend an entire vacation day sitting on the sand, but we liked the beach here so much that we actually spent a full day there.

That alone says a lot about how comfortable and relaxed we felt at Halcyon, and it ended up being one of those simple vacation days that we will remember. We looked forward to going back there with our favorite Sandals Resorts travel friends, and will probably stay in the same room again.

Taking Shoreline Journeys Travel On The Road

Not all of my summer adventures involved getting on a plane! This summer, I decided to take Shoreline Journeys Travel on the road by having my car wrapped to showcase my business and my specialty in Sandals & Beaches Resorts. Now, whether I’m heading to an appointment, running errands, or simply driving around town, my business travels right along with me.

It’s a fun way to introduce more people to Shoreline Journeys Travel and hopefully start a few conversations along the way. You never know when someone sitting at the next red light might be dreaming about a romantic Sandals Resorts getaway or a family vacation at Beaches Resorts!

Returning To Our Favorite Family Vacation Spot In Wildwood, New Jersey

Wildwood, New Jersey is just one of those places that feels like summer to our family. We have been vacationing there for the past 25 years, and after all this time, we still look forward to going back. We have traveled to some pretty amazing places over the years, but Wildwood is different. There are so many memories wrapped up in this little piece of the Jersey Shore, and it has become one of those family traditions that I cannot imagine giving up.

For us, Wildwood isn’t about packing every day with plans. It is going to the beach, walking the Boardwalk, eating way too much good food, and going back to all of our favorite spots year after year. We have watched our kids grow up during these vacations, and some of the things we did with them when they were little are now part of the stories we laugh about when we are back together. Of course, we have our favorite restaurants and our Wildwood must-dos, but a big part of why we keep returning is simply because we love being there together at our favorite motel.

After 25 years, you might think we would be ready to find somewhere new for our family summer vacation, but nope! Wildwood is still Wildwood, and for us, nothing really replaces it. Trips have changed as the kids have gotten older and life has changed, but getting everyone together at the shore is still something I treasure. Having our future daughter-in-law join us and look forward to this vacation is so heartwarming. Give me my family, a few days in Wildwood, some Boardwalk food, and time together, and I am a pretty happy person.

Returning To Sandals Grande Antigua With Great Friends

Our second trip to Sandals Grande Antigua was definitely a fun one! This time, we decided to treat ourselves and stay in the highest-level butler room at the resort. Even better, we traveled with some of our favorite Sandals Resorts friends, who stayed in the same room category right next to us. We even shared the same butler team, which made the whole experience that much more fun and easy. Traveling with friends who love Sandals Resorts as much as we do made this return trip feel completely different from our first visit.

We had so much fun making our way around the resort and trying all the different restaurants, but one of my favorite parts was simply having dinner together every night. We would catch up on what everyone did that day, laugh, eat way too much, and then do it all over again the next night. We also joined in on some of the resort activities instead of just sitting around all day. And, of course, there were plenty of visits to Café de Paris because you really cannot beat their milkshakes!

And then there were my kitty friends! I loved seeing the cats around the resort and, naturally, had to make friends with as many of them as possible. Between our butlers making everything easy, a beautiful room, lots of good food, resort activities, milkshakes, kitty visits, and spending the week with great friends, this was such a fun return to Sandals Grande Antigua. It was a good reminder that you can visit the same Sandals Resorts property more than once and have a completely different vacation each time.

Back At Sandals Dunn’s River For Work And A Little Fun

This summer brought us back to Sandals Dunn’s River for our second visit, but this trip was a little different because I was there for work, too. I spent time touring the resort and meeting with the sales team to get the latest updates and see what had changed since our last stay. I also had the chance to tour the new conference center, which was great to see firsthand. Of course, there was still plenty of vacation mixed in!

We stayed in a Tufa Terrace One Bedroom Skypool Butler Suite with Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub and I have a full room review coming soon because there is definitely plenty to share about this room category. This is actually the room that got me completely hooked on butler service at Sandals Resorts.

One of the best parts of returning was having our previous butler team, Shawne and Tenneil, take care of us again. They remembered us from our last visit and truly made this trip the absolute best it could be. We also made it a goal to get to every restaurant on the resort this time, and I am happy to say we did it! We really enjoyed them all, but Banyu and Hanami ended up being surprise favorites. Having the opportunity to experience all of the dining again was also helpful for me because those are exactly the little details my Shoreline Journeys Travel clients ask me about when we are deciding if a resort is the right fit for them.

Some of my favorite things from our first stay were just as good the second time around. I still love the morning music around the resort. Between the saxophone and the steel pan drums, it is such a lovely way to start the day and something I really missed once we came home. And then there is BLŪM Café! It was still my favorite morning stop, with an iced mocha or vanilla latte becoming part of my daily routine. I could definitely go for one right about now! This trip was a great mix of work, learning, and enjoying a Sandals Resorts property we were very happy to return to.

If Jamaica is on your radar at all, this resort should be at the top of your list. Done in Sandals Resorts 2.0 style, it is the perfect mix between relaxing and fun, there is something for everyone!

Summer Travel Isn’t Quite Over Yet

Our summer travels aren’t quite finished yet, but the passports are getting a little break! Over the next six weeks, our adventures will be a lot closer to home as we head out for several music concerts and a few local trips. After a summer filled with resorts, flights, beaches, work trips, and plenty of time away, I am looking forward to some fun that doesn’t require packing a suitcase for a week. There is still plenty of summer left to enjoy, just with a little more live music and a lot less time in the airport!
