Seaside Haven At Shoreline Journeys: February 23, 2025
Happy Sunday everyone! It’s the end of another busy week, and I am still trying to soak everything in. I am still finding it hard to believe that I have officially stepped down from the bookstore and am now working as a full-time travel agent.
I never thought I could start over with a new career at my, uh, advanced age. I was comfortable in my position because I was good at my job. I knew what to do and what to expect, and it was mostly predictable. But, I have to say, this new adventure is suiting me.

It’s a little intimidating not having a specific routine anymore. But I love the idea that I can make my own work schedule. If I wake up early, I can get all my daily emails drafted and ready to go. I am finding that I can write more and still have time to do some cleaning around my house.
I can’t even tell you how messy my house is or the fact that I just got my Christmas tree down this past Tuesday. I was feeling very overwhelmed since the end of October when the retail holiday season started. You hear about functional freeze, but don’t really understand it until you are in it.
But that is all a thing of the past now. I am taking housecleaning one day at a time now. I am working on getting a routine down. I am even back to cooking dinner most nights instead of ordering takeout. I have my office set up now, and feel like I am getting a handle on organizing my day. And it will only get better as time progresses.
Most of my website entries focuses on clients, but I thought I would have one day a week where I could share the everyday in my life. If you enjoy posts like these, please leave a comment. Or if you want me to post more travel content, make sure you let me know about that too!
What’s On The Business End Of Shoreline Journeys
Now that I shared a little bit about me, let’s talk about what I shared on the the website. First, and foremost, I wanted to share again my latest client review. It may seem like a little thing, but these words really mean a lot to me, as a travel agent and as a person.
Jen Is A Superhero Disguised As A Travel Agent
February 2025Jennifer was absolutely AMAZING! Let me explain, I am very busy and run multiple companies but when it comes to my personal stuff I always lack at getting stuff done. Jennifer took all the ?’s out of the mix when it came to booking our trip. Literally handled everything. She would give me the best nudges for us for any of the things that needed done, passport stuff, re-entry stuff, even flights, she was watching flights ahead of time to make sure ours would be on time and when there was a delay, she caught it before I could have even known. She never missed a beat. She loves her work, represents the travel process and Sandals very professionally and was exceptional from start to finish. We rebooked while we were there because of her and wouldn’t have it any other way. She will be our only travel agent because SHE EARNED IT! She is awesome and I hope you have the same amazing experience as we did!

You have to remember that I haven’t been doing this for even a year yet. And to hear those words from clients that I have only met over the phone, well, it really does mean a lot.

I love when we are on resort and get to interact with the resort kitties. Makes me miss mine a little bit less!
I love posts like these. Please keep them coming! I can understand your frustration with not having a specific routine. Sometimes, it can be relaxing to just go with the flow, but a lot of the time, it’s overwhelming, to say the least. I hope you find a schedule/routine that works for you soon.
I am finding now that I am no longer working outside of the home, the routines are starting to fall into place a bit more. I have my office area set up now and am able to work better. It’s only been 2 weeks, so I have a ways to go until I am settled.
Congratulations on the new career, sounds like you’re enjoying the new adventure. Thanks for linking with #pocolo
