Seaside Haven At Shoreline Journeys: It’s Vegas Baby!
Happy June everyone! It’s hard to believe that we are already one week into the month. Where did the time go? It’s been an incredibly busy May, between clients traveling and our own vacation to Sandals Grenada, it seemed like I blinked and it was over.
Speaking on Sandals Grenada, is was an absolutely AMAZING vacation, one of the best to Sandals Resorts so far. I can’t wait to share all about our trip, but that will be later in September, once all of our Summer travel is completed.

So let’s dive a little bit deeper into what is going on today. In case you haven’t figured out from the title, I am in Vegas for the next 6 days. Why? I am attending my first conference as a travel agent, and I am pretty excited. This is also my first time to Las Vegas, so there is so much excitement going on.
So Why Am I In Vegas?
As I mentioned, I am in Las Vegas to attend the EDGE Travel Conference that is hosted by the Travel Leaders Network. It brings together all of the travel industry leaders for education and networking for travel agents. As a newer travel agent, it is a great opportunity to network and learn from the best of the best.

I have a jam packed schedule of non-stop learning planned for this week. I will be talking with representatives from Disney, Universal, AmaWaterways, American Airlines, just to name a few. And, of course, I plan on meeting with Sandals & Beaches Resorts people, along with Island Routes, the adventure tours partner of Sandals & Beaches.
I may even try a few new things, like saying “HI” on a podcast, and even get a few selfies in with some amazing people. I am really excited about this opportunity, and I don’t plan on wasting it. I did leave some time in my schedule for exploring the city, and probably taking a ton of pictures, too. If you want to follow along, be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook!
This Is The First Time I Have Ever Been To Las Vegas!
Yep, you read that correctly! This will be my first trip to the city in all of my 50+ years! I know that it is for business, but I sure wish my husband could have joined me for this adventure. It would have been great to experience it together.
But hey, it will be a good excuse to go back at a future date, say when the Athletics play the Phillies in Vegas. What a fun way to experience a new stadium and see our favorite team hopefully win. We had such a good time seeing them in Chicago, so this would be even better.
My husband’s family lives out here as well, so it will be a chance to spend time with them when we do. I will miss them this trip because they are back home visiting the PA family. Too funny! My plan for this evening is to visit nearby hotels and check out some of the landmarks. Later this evening I am meeting some of the travel agents from my agency and then off to bed. I have a busy schedule starting at 8:30AM with a meeting with Island Routes and then off to the conference.

What I Am Expecting To Get Out Of This Adventure
The biggest and most important thing I expect to get out of this trip is more tools to help grow my travel business. My main focus is still Sandals and Beaches Resorts, as I feel that specializing in a particular brand will always mean you get the best possible attention. Since my husband and I also vacation at Sandals Resorts multiple times a year, it just helps me to have a well-rounded and unbiased review of properties because I am spending my own money to vacation there. I don’t like to sugar coat things, and I am always honest with my clients.
But at the same time, I am looking forward to connecting with other suppliers to see exactly what I can bring to potential clients in terms of having the best and most current information for planning future travel adventures. I can’t wait!
Learning new ways to use social media for clients, how to improve communications & workflow, more details about the importance of travel insurance, and so much more. It will be a lot to process, but will be so worth it!
New From The Blog This Week
Even with everything going on this week getting ready for the conference and getting client bookings done (yay for more Sandals clients. Some new, and some are repeat customers which makes my heart so happy), I still had some time to write. So check out these great posts that I am sharing.

What’s Next On The Horizon?
Our favorite Wildwood vacation is coming up at the end of this month, and I am super excited as always. It’s going to be an even more special trip, but I can’t really say why at this point. Guess you will just have to keep coming back to the blog to find out when I do actually share the news!
And coming up in July is our first trip to Sandals Royal Bahamian. It is a new-to-us resort and the first one I am taking with my travel agent points. This trip will be more about work than relaxing, but that just means I will have more content for the website and insider views for my clients. And truthfully, I don’t consider that work at all!
So now that you know what’s going on, I am going to finish up this post. Well, at this point I am out and about, exploring around nearby areas and enjoying this awesome trip. So much to learn, so little time, but I plan to make the most of it! Happy Sunday!
