Sandals Halcyon Beach Dining Guide: Restaurants, Menus and My Favorite Picks
The Sandals Halcyon Beach dining options were something I was really interested in experiencing during our stay, especially because Halcyon is a smaller resort. There are seven restaurants right on the property, and before we went, I wondered whether that would feel like enough variety for an entire vacation. After eating our way around the resort, I found that the number really wasn’t an issue for us.
What made the difference was that the restaurants weren’t all trying to do the same thing. We could have a nicer dinner at Kelly’s Dockside, go completely casual for lunch at The Beach Bistro, have Italian at Mario’s, sushi at Soy, pizza at Isola or make dinner more of an experience at Kimonos. Bayside became our regular breakfast spot, and then there was the beach party mixed into the week as well. Instead of counting restaurants, I found myself thinking more about what I felt like eating that day. Sandals Halcyon has a lot to offer in dining, so let’s get started.

And because this is based on what we actually experienced, I’m going to tell you about the restaurants at Sandals Halcyon the same way I would if we were sitting around talking about our trip. I’ll cover what each restaurant serves and what you might want to try, but I’ll also tell you where we kept going back, what I would order again and which meals stood out after we came home.
I have to say, talking about the food on resorts is one of my favorite things to do. Sometimes it can be intimidating to eat at new places when you are somewhere else. One of the benefits of Sandals Resorts dining is getting to try things you wouldn’t normally. You have questions, I have the answers. Let’s cover some common ones.
More Questions About Dining at Sandals Halcyon Beach
There are a few practical things about Sandals Halcyon Beach dining that are helpful to know before your vacation but don’t necessarily fit into a restaurant-by-restaurant guide. From dress codes to whether you can order another entrée, here are a few questions that often come up when planning meals at the resort.
It depends on the restaurant and its dress code. Resort Casual restaurants allow a more relaxed vacation look, while restaurants designated Resort Evening Attire require long pants for men. I recommend checking the current dress code for the restaurants you want to try before packing, especially if you plan to have dinner at every restaurant during your stay.
Yes. Since dining is included, you aren’t limited to one appetizer, entrée or dessert. If two entrées sound good, you can try both, or order an additional dish to share. This is one of my favorite ways to try more of a restaurant’s menu without having to choose just one thing.
Restaurant dress codes generally fall into Resort Casual and Resort Evening Attire, depending on the restaurant. Resort Casual is more relaxed, while Resort Evening Attire calls for a more polished look. I always recommend checking the current dress code for each restaurant before packing so you have the right clothing and footwear for the places where you plan to dine.
Yes, but the hours and room service options depend on your room category. Club Sandals rooms include room service during designated hours, while Butler Elite accommodations include 24-hour in-room dining. If having breakfast on your patio or ordering something late at night is important to you, this is worth considering when choosing your room category.
Often, yes. If there’s something on a dish you don’t care for or you would prefer a simple modification, ask your server what the kitchen can accommodate. Not every dish can necessarily be changed, but it’s worth asking rather than automatically skipping something on the menu because of one ingredient you don’t like.

Kelly’s Dockside at Sandals Halcyon Beach: Seafood and Grilled Specialties

Kelly’s Dockside was my favorite overall dining experience at Sandals Halcyon Beach, although our dinner there does have a little bit of an unfair advantage because we celebrated our anniversary there. It’s the restaurant out on the pier, and this is one case where the location really did add something to our evening. We weren’t rushing through dinner or trying to get somewhere afterward. We had a great meal, enjoyed being out over the water and let it be our anniversary dinner rather than simply another meal during the trip.
The dinner menu leans heavily into grilled meats and seafood, so there are plenty of choices if one of you loves seafood and the other would rather have steak or chicken. The Mixed Grill is one of the restaurant’s signature choices and combines several meats on one plate. You’ll also find individual grilled selections along with seafood choices and appetizers. This is definitely a restaurant where I would look through the entire menu before deciding because there are quite a few directions you can go.
Kelly’s also serves breakfast, which gives it a completely different feel earlier in the day. I wouldn’t necessarily tell you that you have to eat breakfast there when Bayside is so easy, but it is nice to experience Kelly’s at a different time of day. I love my eggs benedict and baked beans when we are on resort, so being able to order it at Kelly’s Dockside was a huge plus.
For dinner, though, I would absolutely make it one of your priorities. Reservations are required, and if you have a special night to celebrate while you’re at Halcyon, this would be my pick.
Mario’s Italian Restaurant at Sandals Halcyon Beach

My Pick: Spaghetti Carbonara

Mario’s ended up giving me one of my favorite dishes of the entire trip, and it wasn’t the signature Chicken Parmigiana. The carbonara was my favorite dinner dish, and yes, I would order it again. I tend to remember specific dishes more than I remember an entire menu, and this is one of the things I immediately think of when I think about what we ate at Sandals Halcyon.
The menu has plenty of the Italian dishes you would expect, including pasta, seafood, chicken and beef, along with an antipasto buffet to start your meal. I actually like having that combination because you can sample a few things before ordering your entrée rather than committing to one appetizer. There are familiar choices if you’re not feeling adventurous, but there is enough variety that two people could order completely different meals and both be happy.
Mario’s was also the kind of restaurant that worked well on a night when we wanted a sit-down dinner without making the evening overly complicated. You don’t need a reservation, so it can be one of those places you decide on based on what sounds good that night. And if you like carbonara, that’s the dish I would tell you to try before anything else. The Chicken Parmigiana may be one of the restaurant’s better-known dishes, but the carbonara is the one I came home talking about.
Kimonos at Sandals Halcyon Beach: Japanese Teppanyaki Dining

We really enjoyed Kimonos, but this is a completely different dinner from Kelly’s or Mario’s. You’re seated around the teppanyaki grill with other guests while the chef prepares dinner in front of you, so you’re not going here for a quiet dinner for two. The entertainment and interaction are part of the meal, and that’s exactly why I think it’s fun to include it once during your trip.
Dinner is centered around the teppanyaki experience, with different grilled proteins and the sauces and sides that go along with them. The Emperor’s Feast gives you a chance to enjoy several of the things coming off the grill rather than choosing a traditional plated entrée. Part of the fun is watching everything being prepared, and the chefs definitely make dinner more entertaining than simply sitting down, ordering and waiting for your plate to arrive.
And you MUST try their signature drinks: Dragon Punch and Sake Cruise!
Kimonos does require a reservation, so I wouldn’t wait until the last night of your vacation and hope there happens to be an opening. We were in a Butler room, so our butlers handled our dining reservations for us, which made that part very easy. If you aren’t staying Butler level, just take care of your reservation once you’re on resort. Even if you’re normally someone who prefers quiet dinners, I think Kimonos is worth doing once because it breaks up the week and gives you a completely different type of evening.
Bayside Restaurant at Sandals Halcyon Beach for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Bayside was our daily breakfast go-to, and sometimes the restaurant you use the most isn’t necessarily the one you thought you would be talking about before the trip. It was easy, there were plenty of choices, and we could get what we wanted without turning breakfast into a long event. That’s pretty much exactly what I want in the morning on vacation. Some days you want a bigger breakfast and other days you just want something quick before getting on with the day, and Bayside worked for both.
Breakfast mimosas were the highlight of breakfast, my one non-negotiable treat when we are on our Sandals Resorts vacations.
Breakfast and lunch are more casual, while dinner changes things up with a French Brasserie menu. That means I wouldn’t automatically dismiss Bayside for dinner because you’ve already eaten breakfast there several times. The evening menu is a different experience, with dishes such as French onion soup, seafood, salmon, beef and French-inspired entrées. The Confit de Poulet is one of the restaurant’s signature dinner dishes.
Soy Sushi Bar at Sandals Halcyon Beach
Cuisine: Sushi and Japanese specialties
Popular Dish: Seared Tuna Tataki Signature Roll

Soy is a nice dinner choice when you don’t necessarily want another big entrée. You can order a few different rolls, share them and keep adding things if you’re still hungry. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy sushi at an all-inclusive resort(and let me add that before Soy, I never had sushi before!). You aren’t looking at the price of every roll and deciding whether you really need to order another one. If something sounds interesting, try it.
The menu goes well beyond basic sushi rolls, with nigiri, sashimi and both traditional and specialty rolls. The Seared Tuna Tataki is one of the signature choices, but there are also cooked rolls and other options for someone who likes the idea of sushi but isn’t particularly interested in raw fish. That makes Soy an easier choice when one person loves sushi more than the other.
I also like having a restaurant like Soy mixed into the week because it doesn’t feel anything like Mario’s, Kelly’s or Kimonos. After several bigger dinners, there may be a night when sushi sounds much better than steak or pasta. We didn’t need every dinner at Halcyon to feel like a special occasion. Sometimes we just wanted to eat what sounded good that night, and Soy gave us another very different option without needing a reservation.
The Beach Bistro at Sandals Halcyon Beach: Burgers, Wings and Casual Lunch

My Pick: Mango-Habanero Fish Burger

Meals: Lunch and late-night dining
If you’re asking me what I would order for lunch again tomorrow, this one is easy. The mango fish burger at The Beach Bistro was my favorite lunch of the trip. This is exactly the kind of food I want during a pool or beach day. I don’t need lunch to be fancy, and I don’t want to spend half the afternoon sitting inside a restaurant when I could be enjoying the resort. I may or may not have eaten it 3 times during our 7-night stay.
The Beach Bistro has burgers, wings, wraps, quesadillas, nachos and other casual choices, but the Mango-Habanero Fish Burger is the one that stood out to me. It’s a much more interesting vacation lunch than ordering a basic hamburger, and it fit the setting. The Signature Bistro Burger is another popular choice if you do want a traditional burger, and there are enough options here that it’s an easy place to revisit during a weeklong stay.
The Beach Bistro is also useful because it serves late-night food. Even after a full dinner, there is something about being on vacation that can make you hungry again later, especially if you’ve been out enjoying the evening. Having somewhere to grab something without ordering room service is one of those little conveniences you don’t think much about until you want it. For me, though, this restaurant will always be the place with that fish burger I would happily order again.
Isola Pizzeria at Sandals Halcyon Beach for Fresh Pizza
Cuisine: Neapolitan-style pizza
Popular Dish: Jerk Chicken Pizza

Meal: Lunch
Isola is another casual lunch option, and I think having both pizza and The Beach Bistro available is more important at a smaller resort than it might seem when you’re just reading a restaurant list. You don’t always want the same kind of lunch, and sometimes pizza is exactly what sounds good after spending the morning outside.
The pizzas are made fresh to order, with choices ranging from a traditional Margherita to meatier and more adventurous combinations. The Jerk Chicken Pizza is the one I would point out if you want something you probably aren’t ordering from your local pizza place at home. It combines jerk chicken with island flavors and gives you something a little more interesting than a standard cheese or pepperoni pizza.
I also think Isola works really well for sharing. You don’t necessarily need a huge lunch when dinner is only a few hours away, so splitting a pizza can be plenty. That’s generally how I prefer to eat during the day at an all-inclusive anyway. I’d rather have something when I’m hungry, go back to enjoying the afternoon and still be ready for dinner later instead of eating such a big lunch that I’m not hungry when it’s time for Mario’s or Kelly’s. Our butlers also left us mid-afternoon snacks, so the pizza was a great way not to fill up and have room for the snacks.
Sandals Halcyon Beach Party and Caribbean Buffet
The beach party was a fun dining night for us because it broke up the restaurant routine. Instead of sitting down, looking at a menu and ordering another traditional dinner, we had the buffet and could wander around trying different things. There were more Caribbean flavors mixed in, and it felt much more like an event than another scheduled meal. I wouldn’t skip it just because it isn’t one of the seven restaurants.
This is also one of those nights when I wouldn’t worry too much about researching every detail before your vacation. The entertainment schedule can change, so check the schedule after you arrive and see when the beach party is happening during your stay. Then you can work your Kelly’s and Kimonos reservations around it rather than accidentally having a reservation at the same time.
For us, the buffet was simply fun. We could take a little of what looked good, go back for something else and enjoy the entertainment without dinner being particularly structured. I enjoy nice sit-down dinners, obviously our anniversary dinner at Kelly’s was one of the highlights of the trip, but I also like having one evening where dinner feels completely different. The beach party gave us exactly that.
Food Allergies and Dietary Restrictions at Sandals Halcyon Beach
Food allergies and intolerances can make eating at an all-inclusive resort feel a little intimidating, especially when you’re dealing with several different restaurants and kitchens during the same vacation. No matter what island you choose, Sandals Resorts has a Culinary Concierge who can work with guests who have allergies, intolerances or other dietary requirements. They can go through menus with you, discuss what you need and help coordinate dining. If something requires a special product or preparation that the resort doesn’t normally have available, Sandals Resorts asks for at least one month’s advance notice.
Even after speaking with the Culinary Concierge, I would still mention your allergy or intolerance when you arrive at each restaurant. It’s better to repeat the information than assume the person serving you already knows. The servers will ask you every time you order, so if they don’t, make sure you inform them. Depending on your dietary needs, the culinary staff can also help arrange meals ahead of time, which can take a lot of the guesswork out of deciding where you can eat each night.
For a severe food allergy, I would have a more detailed conversation with the culinary team rather than relying only on symbols or descriptions on a menu. The important thing is to communicate exactly what you need instead of waiting until dinner is being served to start asking questions. This is something worth dealing with at the beginning of your stay so you can spend the rest of the vacation enjoying your meals instead of worrying about every one of them.
What Surprised Me About Dining at a Smaller Sandals Resort
Before staying at Sandals Halcyon Beach, I did wonder whether seven restaurants would feel limiting. Some Sandals Resorts have much larger restaurant lineups, and if you compare resorts based only on numbers, Halcyon is obviously going to look small. Once we were actually there, though, I stopped thinking about the number.
What mattered more was that the choices were different enough from each other. We weren’t choosing between seven restaurants serving similar menus. We had Italian, sushi, Japanese teppanyaki, pizza, grilled seafood and meats, French-inspired dishes and casual beach food, plus the beach party during the week.
And I never felt like we needed to leave Halcyon just because we were running out of places to eat. Guests do have exchange privileges with the other Sandals Resorts in Saint Lucia, which opens up many more restaurants if you want to visit them, but I look at that as an extra rather than something you have to do to make dining at Halcyon work. We visited the other resorts during our trip, but I was always perfectly happy coming back to Halcyon.
My Take on the Sandals Halcyon Beach Dining Experience
When I look back at our meals at Sandals Halcyon Beach, I don’t think about whether seven restaurants is a big enough number. I think about our anniversary dinner at Kelly’s, the carbonara I would order again at Mario’s, how much fun we had at Kimonos and that mango fish burger I loved at The Beach Bistro. I think about walking into Bayside every morning for breakfast and having a completely different kind of dinner at the beach party one night.
That’s more important to me than having a big restaurant list. I don’t need every meal on vacation to be something elaborate. Some of my favorite vacation food memories are a specific dish I wasn’t expecting to love or a restaurant we ended up visiting more than we thought we would. Sandals Halcyon gave us a good mix of both. There were meals we planned ahead and meals we decided on because that was simply what sounded good at the time.
