A husband’s co-worker had stayed in this room category and always talked about how amazing it was. When we decided that we were headed to Grenada, I knew I had to stay in this room. Sandals Grenada was one of those resorts that over the course of the years I was in Facebook groups has always been at the top of everyone’s list. Close travel friends raved about it, as well as a coworker of my husband. When the time finally came for us to come here, this room wasn’t originally available for our dates. The Italian Swim-Up Bi-Level One Bedroom Butler Suites sit toward the back of Sandals Grenada, tucked behind the Pink Gin Village buildings. This part of the resort feels peaceful and private, giving guests a little distance from the livelier pool and entertainment areas. It’s a lovely spot for couples who enjoy a quiet atmosphere and don’t mind being a bit farther from the main activity.

Getting to these suites does require a walk up a noticeable hill. It’s not steep enough to feel unsafe, but it is a climb that can feel tiring in the Caribbean heat, especially after a long travel day or if you plan to go back and forth frequently. Guests with mobility issues may want to consider a suite located closer to the main pathways or beach area for easier access.

There are two separate buildings where these suites are located. The 3200 room block is often considered the most desirable because it offers the best views available in this category, though those views are still somewhat obstructed by nearby buildings and landscaping. You’ll see more of the resort’s greenery and rooftops than the ocean itself, but the trade-off is a quiet, secluded setting.

Once you’re there, the area feels calm and tucked away, especially in the evenings. It’s the kind of location where you can truly unwind, enjoy the sound of the fountains, and take in the feeling of having your own private space within the resort.

To get into your room, you will need to either need to take the elevator to the second floor, or climb the stairs. While it didn’t bother us to use the stairs, it is important to know that if you have mobility issues. Once you exit the stairs or the elevator, it is a short walk up a ramp to get to the door of your suite.

There is a very nice full-length mirror to check how amazing you look when you head out in the evening for dinner and entertainment.

Bathroom and Walk-In Closet Area in the Italian Swim-Up Suite

As soon as you walk in, you will see the closet area and the bathroom area. The closet area was adequate for our clothes and our suitcases. It also has the safe to lock up your valuables.

This room has a fairly large bathroom area. With a separate shower and tub, to a make-up area. The sink area was really nice, as well.

The only downside to the bathroom was the lighting in the makeup area. I wish it had LED lighting light the regular sink area. It made getting your makeup down a little more difficult because the lighting in that area wasn’t as good. I generally don’t wear makeup to begin with, but I do on vacations. You may want to consider bringing a travel makeup mirror for this area. Make sure you also have a Type G plug for the area, as well.
