What Does Sandals & Beaches Travel Insurance Cover?
The Sandals & Beaches travel insurance plan offers extensive coverage, including:
- Trip Cancellation: Recover non-refundable deposits if you must cancel due to covered reasons.
- Trip Interruption: Coverage if your vacation gets cut short unexpectedly.
- Medical Emergencies: Covers medical expenses in case of illness or injury during your trip.
- Baggage Coverage: Protection for delayed, lost, or damaged luggage.
- Flight Delays: Assistance and compensation for unexpected travel delays. Be aware that if you flight is cancelled, it does not cover the cancellation. I always recommend getting the airline insurance when you book your flights. If you do book your flights through Sandals Resorts, travel insurance must be purchased at time of booking and cannot be added later.

How Much Does the Sandals & Beaches Travel Insurance Plan Cost?
The cost of the Sandals & Beaches travel insurance plan is only $248 per couple if you are heading to a Sandals Resort, or if you are headed to Beaches Resorts, you can obtain it for $124 per person. A small cost to cover a big investment.
How Do You Get the Insurance Plan?
Adding the travel insurance plan to your booking is a breeze!
- Choose your Sandals or Beaches Resort and book your stay. Whether it’s online, at Loyalty & Travel, or best yet, through me, we can get this important part of your trip taken care of.
- Opt to include the insurance plan during the booking process. You can choose to add it during the booking process (you will pay the $248 at time of booking).
- Prior to final payment, your travel advisor can call to have it added and you would pay the $248 then. I highly recommend doing it at that time, in case your plans change and you need to cancel, as the travel insurance is non-refundable.
Once selected, you’ll receive all the details in your final payment email you receive from Sandals or Beaches. There will a confirmation and a plan code, as well as a handy guide you can print out and keep with your travel documents. I also program all the information into my phone and take a picture of the identification card, just in case.
What Happens If You Need to File a Claim?
Filing a claim is straightforward. If the unexpected happens, here is some of the steps you should take:
- Contact Trip Mate Inc. immediately to notify them of your situation. That is why it is important to have the phone numbers programmed into your phone and have the paper with your travel documentation.
- Provide any necessary documentation, such as receipts or medical reports. For instance, if your luggage is lost and you buy clothing on resort, ask for an itemized receipt for all applicable purchases.
- Sit back as your claim is processed. Keep detailed notes, and have all those receipts handy in case further clarification is needed.
