Why We Chose To Stay At Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
As I was planning this trip, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort stood out to me for a few very specific reasons. I wanted a resort that felt a little more relaxed at the end of the day, had transportation that would make getting around easier, and gave me a different overall experience than what we’ve done in the past. I also wanted to choose something I could experience firsthand, so when I’m helping you plan your trip, I can walk you through what it really feels like and who it’s going to work best for.
I have to admit, this is the first time I am getting to stay at a Disney Resort hotel. We have been to the area a few times, but have always stayed at a local hotel or at another theme park. When the opportunity came up after completing some training, I jumped on the chance to stay at an onsite hotel. I thought I would share as to why I ultimately decided on Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and why I think it will work well for you.

Before I go into more detail as to why I chose Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, I know that you may have some questions. I am sharing some answers to the most common questions potential guests & clients have about the resort, so let’s talk about those first.
Frequently Asked Questions About Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Planning a stay at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort usually comes with a few common questions, especially if it’s your first time staying here or you’re trying to decide between resorts. These are the ones I hear most often, and they’ll help you feel more confident about whether this resort is the right fit for your trip.
Yes, it’s a great option for families, especially those who want more space without jumping up to deluxe pricing. The rooms are larger than value resorts, and the overall layout gives kids room to explore without feeling crowded. The main pool with the pirate themed fort is always a favorite, and having multiple smaller pools around the villages makes it easy to find a quieter spot too.
One of the biggest perks here is access to the Disney Skyliner, which connects you directly to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Travel time is usually about 10 to 15 minutes depending on transfers. For other parks like Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, you’ll use Disney buses, which are still very manageable.
This is one of the most common concerns, and the honest answer is that it is a large resort, but it’s very walkable if you plan ahead. The villages are spread around Barefoot Bay, and there are walking paths connecting everything. If location matters to you, choosing a preferred room category closer to Old Port Royale can make a big difference.
You have a nice mix of quick and sit down options. Sebastian’s Bistro is the standout for table service and is one of those places guests are always pleasantly surprised by. Centertown Market is your main quick service spot, and Banana Cabana is perfect for relaxed poolside drinks and light bites. It’s not overwhelming, but it covers everything most guests need during their stay.
For many travelers, yes. It sits right in that sweet spot where you get more space, better theming, and added transportation perks without the higher cost of deluxe resorts. The Skyliner alone adds a lot of value, especially if you plan to spend time at EPCOT or Hollywood Studios.
Choosing the right Disney resort can really shape how your trip feels from start to finish, and Caribbean Beach tends to be one that surprises people in the best way. It’s relaxed, well connected, and gives you that extra bit of breathing room after a full day in the parks.

Disclaimer: As a travel agent that has completed Disney Parks training, I was able to stay at this resort and get my park tickets for a reduced rate. This has not affected my review, and all thoughts are 100% my own honest opinion.
Now that we got all the general information covered, let’s dig a bit deeper into why we decided to stay at Disney Caribbean Beach Resort for this stay.
Relaxed Caribbean Vibe While Being At A Walt Disney World Resort
One of the biggest reasons I chose to stay at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is because it feels completely different from what most people picture when they think of a Disney resort. As a travel advisor, I always want to experience resorts firsthand so I can give you real, honest guidance, and this one immediately stood out to me. The bright colors, the open layout, and the way everything is spread out gives it more of a relaxed island feel instead of that constant go, go, go energy you find in the parks.
I’ll be honest, part of what drew me here is how much it reminds me of the atmosphere I love at Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts. That Caribbean vibe, palm trees, water views, and those little quiet spots to just sit and breathe for a minute, that’s my kind of vacation. Each village is inspired by a different island, which adds to that feeling of being somewhere far away, even though you’re right in the middle of Walt Disney World. After a full park day, I can already picture coming back, kicking off my shoes, and enjoying a slower, more relaxed evening.

And that’s really why I wanted to experience this resort for myself. When I recommend a Disney resort to a family or a couple, I want to know exactly how it feels at the end of a long day, not just what it looks like in photos. I’m staying here so I can better guide you, whether you’re looking for something calm and spread out, or trying to decide if this balance of Magic Kingdom magic and Caribbean style relaxation is the right fit for your vacation.
Skyliner Access Makes Getting Around Easy
Transportation is honestly one of the biggest reasons I chose Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and it really goes back to our last trip in 2016. We drove everywhere, and while it got us where we needed to go, it just added an extra layer of effort that I don’t want this time. I remember getting to EPCOT and already feeling a little drained from parking, walking, and figuring everything out. It definitely took away from just enjoying the moment.
This time, I wanted something that felt easier and more built into the experience. The Disney Skyliner is a big part of that. Since Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is the main hub, I love the idea of just heading over and hopping on to get to Disney’s Hollywood Studios or EPCOT without overthinking it. It feels simple, and honestly, it looks like something I’ll actually enjoy instead of just dealing with.

At the same time, I didn’t want to give up convenience for the other parks, and that’s another reason this resort made sense for me. You still have Disney buses running to Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, so I’m not sacrificing anything there. For me, it feels like the best of both worlds. I get that fun, easy Skyliner access for two of the parks, and reliable bus transportation for the others, which just makes the whole trip feel a lot more manageable from start to finish.
Best Value Disney Moderate Resort With Spacious Rooms
One of the things that really stood out to me when I chose Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is how well it works for different types of trips, especially for just my husband and I, but also for families. Since it’s just the two of us this time, I wanted something that didn’t feel overly busy or crowded at the end of the day. From everything I’ve seen, this resort has those quieter areas where we can slow down a bit, take a walk, or just sit by the water and relax without feeling like we’re still in the middle of the park energy.
At the same time, I didn’t want to sacrifice space or comfort. The rooms here are more spacious than what you typically find at value resorts, and I really like that they’ve been updated with a clean, bright look. It just feels like a step up without going all the way to deluxe pricing. For us, that means we can come back, unwind, and actually enjoy our room instead of just using it as a place to sleep.
And even though this trip is just the two of us, I’m always thinking about what works best for the families I help plan trips for. That’s another reason I wanted to experience this resort myself. The layout gives families room to spread out, kids have space to explore, and there are plenty of areas that feel fun and lively without being overwhelming. So while it feels like a relaxing choice for a couple’s trip, I can already see how it would work really well for families with younger kids too, which is exactly the kind of firsthand insight I want to be able to share.

Dining Options At Disney Caribbean Beach Resort You’ll Actually Enjoy
One of the reasons I felt good about choosing Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is the dining, especially since we added the Disney Dining Plan for this trip. I like knowing that a lot of our meals are already taken care of, and I know we’ll get a lot of use out of the refillable mugs while we’re on resort. I’m already picturing grabbing coffee in the morning before heading out, or stopping back in the afternoon and not having to think about it.
When we’re at the resort, I know we’ll use Centertown Market quite a bit since it’s the main quick service location and just easy to grab something without a big time commitment. On our park days, we’ll use quick service there as well, but I like knowing we have a reliable option right at the resort when we come back. At the same time, I didn’t want every meal to feel rushed, which is why I made sure we included a table service dinner at Sebastian’s Bistro.

I’ve heard so many good things about it, and it just feels like a nice way to slow things down for a night without leaving the resort. Banana Cabana also looks like a fun spot to grab a drink or something light if we’re spending time by the pool.
I also like that the pool setup gives us options depending on how we’re feeling that day. The main pool, Fuentes del Morro, looks fun and more lively, especially for families, but there are also quieter pools around the villages. For us, that means we’re not locked into one type of experience. We can keep things more relaxed when we want, or be around a little more energy if we’re in the mood for it, which is exactly what I was hoping for when I booked this resort.

And there you have it, the big main reasons why I chose the Disney Caribbean Beach Resort as the hotel we are staying on-site. I can’t wait to bring you a full resort review in the coming weeks, so be sure to stop back in to see what we thought. Are you ready to book it for your family? Let’s talk and get it done!

Disney is a very fun place to go. I had the opportunity to travel there with my daughter’s family. My daughter had it all planned out. We were busy! It would be real easy to spend a full week 9 days counting the weekend before and after- we were there for 5 days.Your post is tempting me to go back!
Hi Debra! Thanks for stopping in! One thing I would do next time is add a 5th night so we can have a resort day in between where we could enjoy the pool. And swap out one of the waterparks instead of Animal Kingdom!
We typically try to stay at a different resort each time we go… but then we end up finding some favorites that we’ve stayed at multiple times (like the Wilderness Lodge). If we ever make it back my goal is to stay at the Polynesian.
I really liked Caribbean Beach for the Skyliner. I would like to try a deluxe resort sometime, but I have a feeling when we return, I will book this resort again. Thanks for stopping in!
Jen, this is great! This is so informative and detailed. This resort sounds amazing.
Thanks so much for sharing with Sweet Tea & Friend’s this month dear friend.
